In July, Sargent-Disc Ireland, a Cast & Crew company attended the Galway Film Fleadh to meet with existing contacts and make new connections. The Fleadh and the Irish film industry have grown in tandem with one another since the Fleadh hosted the inaugural edition of the Galway Film Fair in 1997, the UK and Ireland’s first dedicated film market.

Dr Laurence Sargent, Co-Head of International Cast & Crew and Director Sargent-Disc, attended the Festival along with Sarah McKenzie, Business Development Consultant. They met with a wide range of producers to discover more about their production needs and to share information about how Sargent-Disc Ireland can help them.

2021 broke Irish production spend records in Ireland across film, television drama, documentary and animation. With a spend of €500 million in the Irish economy on jobs, local goods and services, it represents the highest ever achieved and a 40% increase on the previous record set in 2019.

Sargent-Disc Ireland is supporting Irish industry growth through its production payroll services and Digital Production Office applications – freeing up the time of production accountants to concentrate on the other financial requirements required to meet big budget international reporting standards.

Sargent-Disc Ireland’s Payroll service is integrated with the Irish Revenue Service (ROS) in order to be compliant with Payroll Modernisation. This ensures that the most accurate, up to date information is given to employers and employees about pay and statutory payroll deductions.

The Galway Film Fleadh is a unique event, bringing together audiences, filmmakers and industry professionals from across the value chain in a creative and inspiring environment to discuss and share best practice.
