Sargent-Disc welcomes Movie Magic Academic Partner: the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's esteemed courses offer students a range of world-class facilities to support production training in an increasingly competitive market. In the past, students of the Conservatoire have worked at Glasgow Theatre Royal and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as well as on BBC set projects.
The culmination of production training consists of an online
digital showcase supported by networking events. The programme's
graduates are working in the industry as special effects
technicians, chief electricians, stage and assistant stage
managers, technical managers, production and deputy production
managers, across Scotland and beyond.
The Conservatoire's partnerships include many major performing companies and organisations such as the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT), the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA), the National Theatre of Scotland, Scottish Opera, Disney Cruise Lines, and Stage Technologies.
The Conservatoire is a major public performance and conference venue with world-class facilities. This combines professional venues, extensive workshops, construction spaces, studios, and the latest stage technologies to provide a fantastic learning environment.
Students are also given the opportunity to apply for study abroad at the California Institute of the Arts and the Hong Kong Academy of the Performing Arts, as well as a range of European Union institutions as part of the ERASMUS exchange initiative. Production staff and students were named 'Best Design Team in the World' at the World Stage Design Exhibition in South Korea, and have also had a regular presence at the Prague Quadrennial Design Exhibition.
