National Film and Television School Industry Awards

Congratulations!

Sargent-Disc was delighted to return to the National Film and Television School Graduation Screening and Awards ceremony, held on February 24th at the Picturehouse Central in Soho, to celebrate the achievements of this year's talented graduates.

The NFTS consistently trains highly capable specialists for all areas of Film and Television production. 2015 - 2016 has been another wonderful year for the School with lots to celebrate across the board. NFTS students and graduates have received both BAFTA short film prizes for the third year running; Edmond won Best Short Animation, whilst Operator won Best Short Film.

Sargent-Disc's relationship with the NFTS continues to grow and we are delighted to provide scholarship support for two students taking the Production Management for Film Diploma course, for the third year running.

"The importance of a good Production Manager should never be underestimated. This year's graduates promise to be amongst the best."  Dr. Laurence Sargent - Director.

In order to recognise and praise the budgeting and scheduling achievements of the 2016 Production Management Graduates, Sargent-Disc continues to support the Awards ceremony by providing three Movie Magic awards. We hope the software prizes will help set the graduates up on the road to success.

Winner: Simone Tomasi

Film: The Sunflower's Inn

Prize: Movie Magic Budgeting and Movie Magic Scheduling (Student Edition)

"I am very flattered that Sargent-Disc has chosen me for the Best Overall Award, I liked the software from the very first time I opened it on my laptop. I was really impressed by its efficiency and user-friendly design, and couldn't believe how easy and intuitive it was. It is undoubtedly a powerful ally for any production team." Simone Tomasi, Production Manager

Movie Magic: Best Budgeting Award

Winner: Sarah Evans

Film: Nothing Going to Change my World

Prize: Movie Magic Budgeting (Student Edition)

"I was really pleased to learn I won the best budgeting award as I genuinely felt I understood the software and used it to my advantage when budgeting my grad fiction film. I find it easy to use and love how much detail you can go into. It really allows you to break down a production and consider all the costs no matter how big or small and if changes happen, it's easy and simple to adjust calculations using globals!" Sarah Evans, Production Manager

Movie Magic: Best Scheduling Award

Winner: Kat Pearl

Film: Those who are Lost

Prize: Movie Magic Scheduling (Student Edition)

"I am extremely honoured to receive the award, and be recognised for the work put in to scheduling Those Who Are Lost. It was an amazing experience despite the challenges faced. I learnt so much and am very proud of all that we achieved as a crew, from pre-production through to post. Collaborating with such a wonderful team and surviving several difficult situations has certainly given me the self-confidence to progress my career in the film and television industry." Kat Pearl, Production Manager

Congratulations again to Simone, Sarah and Kat on their awards! Sargent-Disc would like to wish all NFTS Graduates of 2016 the best for the future.
