Congratulations to all the 2014 EE BAFTA Film Awards nominees and winners!

 

On Sunday 16th February, the star studded BAFTA Film Awards took place at the Royal Opera House in London.

 

The event was hosted by Stephen Fry and presenters included Eddie Redmayne, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons and Oprah Winfrey.

 

Gravity dominated on the night, taking home 6 awards including Outstanding British Film, Best Director (Alfonso Cuaron) and Cinematography. It was also a night of success for Steve McQueen's slavery film 12 Years a Slave which was awarded both Best Film and Leading Actor (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

 

Cate Blanchett took home Leading Actress for her role in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, while Supporting Actress went to Jennifer Lawrence for her performance in American Hustle. Barkhad Abdi won the award for Supporting Actor for his film debut performance in Captain Phillips

 

Peter Greenaway received the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award for his impressive collection of work spanning several decades. The awards ceremony closed with HRH Prince William, BAFTA President, presenting Dame Helen Mirren with the highest BAFTA accolade: the BAFTA Fellowship.
