Creative Financing: International Film Financing Strategies

Update: Read about the 2013 seminar here >

The aim of the seminar, Creative Financing: International Film Financing Strategies, was to give advice to independent producers on how to go about raising finance for imaginative projects in the current economic climate.

There was a lively and entertaining discussion between the panel and the audience. This explored the ways in which creative and resourceful producers are successfully sourcing production finance both in the UK and abroad - and how they are getting the most out of their budgets. Funding sources included international tax incentives, EIS and public production funds, complemented by good financial management practices.

The Panel

Jonathan Olsberg, Chairman Olsberg SPI, moderated the Panel which included an exciting mix of experts from across the spectrum:

  • Lara Sargent, Director and Production Accountant, Sargent-Disc.
  • Chris Curling, Producer, Zephyr Films
  • John Hadity, Chairman Production Guild of America East and Executive Vice President, EP Financial Solutions
  • Joseph Chianese, Tax credit specialist, Executive Vice President, EP Financial Solutions
  • Moses Nyachae, Associate Director, Film Team, RSM Tenon
