Congratulations to the winners of the 2016 Broadcast Awards!

 

Sargent-Disc was delighted to sponsor the 2016 Broadcast Awards which took place on Wednesday 10th February at Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

 

Many industry professionals came together to celebrate the best in television at the 2016 Broadcast Awards, with over 20 awards across a range of categories.

It proved to be a good year for Channel 4, who took home Channel of the Year, bringing in 7 additional prizes, and scoring big across the factual categories. The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds was awarded Best Popular Factual Programme, Dispatches: Escape from Isis took home the Best News and Current Affairs Programme award whilst The Romanians Are Coming and The Paedophile Hunter got Best Documentary Programme and Best Documentary Series respectively. Channel 4 also branched out into other categories, taking Best Music Programme with Four to the Floor, and Best Comedy Programme with Catastrophe.

Tiger Aspect Productions took home the Best Independent Production Company, awarded to them based on the wide variety of quality work they produced throughout 2015.

 It was also a very successful evening for the BBC, taking home several awards, including the Special Recognition prize for Have I Got News For You. The BBC collected prizes ranging primarily across the drama categories, with Doctor Foster taking Best Drama Series, Car Share as Best Original Programme, Clangers won Best Pre-school Programme, So Awkward received Best Children's Programme and Best Single Drama went to Marvellous. The BBC was also awarded Best Daytime Programme for The People Remember and Best Multi-Channel Programme for Reggie Yates' Extreme Russia.

Other winners included ITV taking Best Soap for Emmerdale and Best Entertainment Programme for Britain's Got Talent. Sky scooped up Best Sports Programme and Best International Programme Sales for The 2015 Investec Ashes Series and Fortitude respectively.
