The RTS Student Television Awards, sponsored by Motion Content Group, recognise and celebrate the best student created work across six categories with both an undergraduate and postgraduate winner in each: Drama, Factual, Comedy and Entertainment, News, Short Form, and Animation.

Siobhan Greene, Head of Entertainment Commissioning, ITV and Chair of the RTS Student Television Awards delivered the welcome speech, congratulating all the nominees and winners; encouraging them to continue to chase their dreams.

Twenty-three universities had received nominations having won at their regional RTS Student Awards earlier this year. Sargent-Disc academic partner, the National Film and Television School (NFTS)* led the way with five wins, with the Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Dun Laoghaire and the University of Sunderland students following close behind, taking home four and three awards respectively.
