Sargent-Disc provides a full range of integrated payroll, accounting and software services tailored to the needs of production and business. As an Entertainment Partners affiliate, Sargent-Disc distributes EP software, such as Movie Magic Budgeting, Movie Magic Scheduling and EP Vista Accounting across Europe.
Our team of internationally experienced production accountants and assistants have over 100 years of combined experience in production. We have worked with many of the major Hollywood studios, including; Sony Pictures, Columbia, Paramount, MGM, HBO, Disney, Universal, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, Lionsgate, Focus Features, New Line and Dreamworks.

People
History
Sargent-Disc was founded in 1986 to provide Payroll, Accounting and Software services to production in the UK. Set up by John and Marija Sargent as an affiliate of DISC Inc, now Entertainment Partners (EP), it has helped to launch and develop a range of software and services designed specifically to manage the production process.
Vista Accounting
In 1986 Sargent Disc helped to bring MicroDisc to the UK. MicroDisc soon became the industry standard accounting software helped by real time support in Europe and an electronic interface from Sargent-Disc's payroll. One industry standard was replaced by another with the arrival of Vista Accounting. The new software helped to speed up data entry by allowing multiple users to work over a network.
More recently, the internet has been the driver of change, allowing production teams to collaborate on a truly global scale. In response to this, Sargent-Disc was an early adopter of the Software as a Service (SAAS) model, offering Vista Accounting online since 2002. This fully managed service continues to give secure, real time access to data across multiple locations from anywhere in the world. It has proven particularly useful to co-productions across Europe and beyond and remains the preferred cost accounting software for the majority of UK production accountants.
Movie Magic
An early appreciation of the industry's need for effective production management software led to Sargent-Disc selling the Production Toolkit from 1987 to 1989. Sargent-Disc then became the first UK reseller of Movie Magic software in 1989. Today, under the EP umbrella, the latest releases of Movie Magic Budgeting and Movie Magic Scheduling remain the production industry's software of choice.
SD Online
Having been one of the first to offer a computerised payroll service to productions in 1986 Sargent-Disc launched the first online payroll gateway in the industry in 2005. Called SD Online, it allows sensitive payroll information to be transmitted securely and provides a full, interactive archive of payroll information through a single user login and an easy to use interface.
Today, Sargent-Disc continues to move with the times and, through an ongoing affiliation with EP, sells, supports and offers training on their products throughout Europe.
