UK TV and Animation Tax Credits

In April, Chancellor George Osbourne and Culture MInister Ed Vaizey attended an event at BAFTA to formally launch the recently-introduced tax credit system for High-End Television and Animation. Available through similar application to tax breaks for film productions, it is expected to be as successful in boosting the UK's creative industry.

This follows increasing awareness of production companies filming abroad. Andy Harries, Chief Executive of Left Band Pictures (Mad Dogs, Strike Back), says 'this incentive will allow us to make them in the U.K. whilst supporting the U.K.’s creative community’.

Arqiva British Academy Television Awards

On Sunday 12th May, the biggest names in British television were celebrated at the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards. Stars assembled for an evening at Royal Festival Hall for what turned out to be an evening of surprises.

Highlights included a 50th anniversary tribute to Dr Who, the award of BAFTA Fellowship to Michael Palin, and the double-success of Olivia Colman.

Congratulations to all of this year's winners!

Recent changes to payroll services includes the switchover to Real Time Information - a single integrated real time process that replaces end of year P45/P46 forms. Sargent-Disc was assisting HMRC in piloting the system from April 2012 until its full implementation last month.

RTI is designed to simplify employers' and HMRC's own operations and to provide employees with information more quickly. Sargent-Disc's payroll service enables companies to focus on their core business, control costs and benefit from Sargent Disc's knowledge base and expertise.
